Inspector Qualifications

CertificateSelecting the right Home Inspector can be as important as finding the right home. Membership in the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (CAHPI) is an earned credential and the best evidence of an inspector's competence and professionalism.

David Foley is a fully registered member of the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (Atlantic) in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.

The CAHPI is one of the most respected organizations in North America. The CAHPI Standards of Practice are recognized by government, professional and legal authorities as the definitive standard for professional performance.

Registered Home Inspector (RHI)
RHI CertificationDavid Foley is a registered member of the Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors (CAHPI Atlantic) with an RHI designation. Only qualified members of the Atlantic Associaton of Home Inspectors have the right to call themselves RHI's.

RHIs must meet specific criteria in the area of education, technical background and experience.

To the purchaser this means peace of mind knowing that all RHI's have proven ability, experience and a mandatory Errors and Omissions/Comprehensive General Liability insurance program. This also means accountability since all RHI's must be accountable for their actions. Complaints will be heard by the professional standards committee, and disciplinary action will follow.

To the realtor, lawyer and banker this means an enhanced professional image. Putting people in touch with home inspection professionals reinforces your relationship with clients. Liability for both condition of the home and the quality of the Inspector is reduced when these professionals direct people to members of the Atlantic Association Of Home Inspectors. There is more protection for the client since all Registered Home Inspectors (RHI's) have proven ability, experience and a mandatory Errors and Omissions/Comprehensive General Liability insurance program.
